So I must admit that I have slacked these days as a mom. I wouldn't say I'm a bad mom; I'm just not the same mom I once was when I had one child. Maybe it's the lack of sleep or just the craziness of having two kids but when Katelynn was Justin's age she ate so much healthier than Justin does now. She had never had fast food by this age, never had french fries, never had pizza or any of the other numerous things that I have allowed Justin to have already, and now after today I can add candy to that long list of things Justin has had way before his sister.
Now, of course the candy was not something I purposely allowed Justin to have. I was attempting to fold a basket of laundry while the kids played in the living room with me. Katelynn ran to go potty and then immediately after got into the pantry to get herself a treat. I knew all of this was going on, but I was trying to speed fold my laundry before I had any helpers unfolding what was already done. I also knew Justin crawled over to the pantry when Katelynn opened the door, but I still didn't worry about it and kept trying to complete the folding. Most of the time he goes for the broom that we keep in the pantry and plays with it when the door gets opened. No big deal, right? Wrong! I should have known after 30 seconds of quiet that something was up. After about two minutes, I went to see why grabbing a treat was taking so long and this is what I found-
Katelynn had managed to dump out (or dropped it and Justin opened it) her sweettarts while she was eating one too many M&M's (which she also managed to drop a few of) and Justin was going to town on the sweettarts. He couldn't pop them in his mouth fast enough when he saw me coming, and he clearly had already gotten a hold of an M&M judging from the chocolate that was all over the stepstool. I guess I learned my lesson!

You are a good mommy - good moms spoil their kids with love (which I can tell you do) and every once in awhile candy, pizza, fast food, etc :) Ryan's favorite food in pizza and is a staple at our house for dinner about once a week.
