I told myself that come New Years, I would put my foot down with Justin's sleep issues and get us through them. It's much easier to talk about it than to actually do it. I tried an entire night to attempt to teach him to fall asleep on his own. It was lots of crying and lots of mommy stress and guilt. The end result was one exhausted mommy after 2.5 hours of sleep total that night (and those 2.5 hours were not consecutive either!) and one stubborn boy who wasn't giving in. Jonathan is traveling most the month, and I just couldn't do it alone. Jonathan suggested I try to pull his mattress out and start sleeping with him at first and slowly starting to move out of the room and have him crash on his own. Tonight was the first night, and after only two hours, Justin was already off his mattress and onto the floor. We knew he was a restless sleeper as he is always banging into his crib bars with his head and legs. We hear it from downstairs even without the monitor, but after tonight we are wondering if it's part of our sleep issues. Here's how we found him tonight. He never woke up getting from the far side of the mattress to here. Good thing I had padding next to his mattress!

I know it's been stressful but look at this cute picture!!!
