Learning Letters

So, I have to admit that I haven't been spending much one-on-one time with Katelynn teaching her letters and numbers and such lately.  We used to work on drawing shapes and letters often, and somehow we just haven't sat down and worked on it in quite a while.  She has been able to draw a few letters already like "T" and "H", but the letter "K" has been one we had yet to master, and it's a very important letter for Katelynn since that's what her name starts with.  It's probably the first letter she could recognize when she learned what each letter looked like, but it defintely has not been the first one for her to learn to draw.  While Justin napped today, I asked her if she wanted to work on sounds or writing her letters, and she wanted to try letters.  Within 30 minutes of working with her, she had already mastered her "K" and "A".  I was one proud mama!!  It won't be long and she'll have her name down!

UPDATE:  Since I have been slack on posting this, I have to brag a little further.  Only four days later, Katelynn has almost her entire name down now.  The "Y" is a little struggle, but just today she finally wrote her first legible "Y".  We are working more on it and the "N" and then she has it mastered!!
