Sibling Love

One of the greatest things about being a mommy of two is watching my children interact with one another. It's pretty one sided right now- Katelynn interacting with Justin and Justin either staring or, more times than not, crying. I know it will only get better as he gets older and is able to communicate back to Katelynn though. Katelynn will approach Justin several times a day and say, "Hey Buddy. Hey. What are you doing?" Today as I was trying to run out the door to run errands, Justin started crying to eat. Although he is breastfed, I do pump and we feed him a bottle now and then. I already had him in his carrier and was trying to load up the car so I asked Katelynn if she wanted to feed him a bottle. As I was making him a bottle, I overheard her saying, "Hang on, Buddy. Mommy is making a bottle." And then as she was feeding it to him, she was saying, "Did mommy make you a bottle? Did she?" I think the cutest part about all of it is hearing the way she changing her tone of voice to a softer tone as she communicates with him. And if he starts crying, she's the first one to run to him and try to offer him his pacifer and "shhh" him or tell him it's okay. She does such a great job at being a big sister!
