This year Justin's birthday celebration with friends was on his real birthday. I still refuse to believe that he is TWO years old as of today, but I guess he is more like a little boy these days than the little baby I still remember him as. His birthday theme this year was trains since he loves them! I made the cake the day before (okay, it took well into the day of the party too), but it ended up turning out cute, and he loved it!
We had his birthday party at a place called "Romp 'N Roll". While we had never been there before, I needed somewhere indoors for a January party, and it seemed perfect for his age group. We had a total of 16 kids from ages 18 months to 4 years old, and it was a blast! They played on all kinds of fun gym stuff, played games, and danced to some music!
Birthday Boy!!!
Cake Time! I'm sad to say that my camera decided to not cooperate during singing happy birthday and blowing out the candles. Justin did such a good job, and I'm beyond disappointed that even though I had the best spot to take the pictures, I failed on actually getting any that weren't black. I haven't attempted to edit the picture yet (that could take me another month at the rate I'm going with pictures), but I don't have a lot of hope. Mom, if you are reading this, I NEED you to send me copies of your pictures asap! (If she sends them soon, I promise to post for everyone to see! :) )
We played a "snowball fight" game with soft yarn balls. The object was to get a ball and toss it at the other team. Justin chose to just grab as many balls as he could and hold onto them. To make it even more fun, Miles' mom stuffed them in his shirt for safe-keeping, and he thought that was great!
Bubble Time!
This was a huge hit with all the kids!
After the party, we went with grandparents (and Uncle Matt and Anna) to Red Robin. We might have to make this a tradition as it has been his birthday dinner place two years (his only two years) in a row. He of course dug into the sundae again this year!
I love this.. He is attempting to tell me and show me that he is "TWO!" He can't seem to get the finger-holding of two down though.
Since we only had 1.5 hours at the location we rented for his party, we decided to avoid using up any playtime for presents. Instead we just brought them home unopened and Justin opened them the next morning.
So.. Justin is obsessed with tractors. He asks about his daddy's tractor on a daily basis. Grandma and Grandpa Carney made his day by buying him his very own tractor.. and extra bonus- it has a trailer, which is also a huge deal for Justin. He prefers to play with matchbox trucks that have trailers over any other truck or car!
