This was our first Halloween since the kids have been born without Jonathan. Somehow even with his crazy traveling schedule, he has always managed to be home for Halloween night. Justin was pretty concerned about Daddy missing Halloween. He made sure all day to talk to Katelynn about saving some candy for Daddy and mentioning how sad it is that Daddy isn't here.
We had our second annual cul-de-sac bonfire/cookout for Halloween. The guys all stay back and pass out candy while we trick-or-treat with the kids.
Ryan was way more interested in just running around everywhere than he was in actually trick-or-treating. He wanted the candy, but he wanted it right then, not later. He had no interest in it being in his bag. He kept reaching for people to give him the candy, and if they did, he would immediately try to eat it.
When we got back from trick-or-treating, we had orange pumpkin marshmallows to roast over the fire before bedtime!
.. And then I allowed the kids to have one treat from their bags before we called it a night!
