Justin is doing great!
While I am still uneasy and worried about my little guy, it is safe to say that he is doing great and has had no febrile seizures since his episode almost a week ago. It has been a tough sleeping week for me. While I know it can happen at any time of any day, it is always hardest for me when I lay him down to sleep. Part of that is probably because him going to bed was where/when his seizure occurred, but it is also because I cannot be right next to him monitoring him the entire night. I spent the first two to three nights sleeping in his bed with him, keeping my hand on him the entire night to try and make sure nothing happened. It took a lot to force myself to give that up, but it wasn't very comfortable for my pregnant body to be in his bed, and I was just creating a habit that he was already getting used to (having mommy sleep with him) so I had to take a deep breath and tell myself he would be okay and let him be. Honestly, I know I can't stop them if they come on, but it doesn't make it any easier thinking I may not be there for him the minute one could start. It's something probably only a mommy can understand, but it has just been such an emotionally draining week! Part of me looks at Justin and is so happy that even though we have this "condition" to worry about, things could be so much worse. At least he has something that shouldn't affect his daily life and he will hopefully outgrow (if it even happens again), but then the other part of me just can't get the image of him out of my mind going through that seizure and harmless or not, it scares me to death! He really is doing great though and with each passing day, I think I get a tiny bit better about giving him space :)
On a side note, Justin has also taken off with potty training over the last two weeks! Just like his big sister, he made the decision all on his own to start wearing underwear and being a big boy, and he is doing great! He officially wears only underwear all day, every day (with the exception to nap and bedtime) and has been having minimal accidents (at the most one a day and not every day). Our biggest issues is him keeping everything IN the potty and not on the floor... BOYS! :) We are very proud of him though, and what perfect timing- I now will only have one in diapers all day long!
